Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund ASB is a German non-governmental organization with a history of 131 years. For the first time, ASB started to work in Georgia in the 90s. The humanitarian aid mission helped people affected by the war and living below the poverty line. By 1997, the organization had allocated more than € 7,500,000 to help more than 34,000 people.
In 2010, the organization re-entered Georgia with a different mission, focusing on activities to strengthen social services, to support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), to engage in activities that build resilience and inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (iDRR), and to support the Georgian Samaritan Association (SSK). During 10 years, the ASB has implemented 20 projects and spent more than 5,500,000 EUR. In total, we reached 750,000 people throughout Georgia.
